Loyola Jesuit Center

Hennebery Eddy designed the 6-acre Loyola Jesuit Center campus to fit naturally into its park-like setting in Southeast Portland. Four buildings of Northwest regional character provide living and working facilities for 30 Jesuits and guests and serves as the headquarters for the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus. The campus includes a group residence, guest residence, common dining hall, chapel, office space, and conference center. We sited the buildings to reinforce the chapel as the focus and to blur the line between interior spaces and the dramatic sylvan landscape. American cherry panels, fir casing, and slate floors create a backdrop for key spaces, and flexible furnishings establish a welcoming and comfortable work environment.
